Event Details

Compositions Presented by Meditation V, Pauline Oliveros, Julia A. Miller, Nomi Epstein, Jeff Kowalkowski, KG Price, and many others

Works performed will include, but, are not limited to, Pauline Oliveros' ''Teach Yourself To Fly'', Nomi Epstein's ''For Cage99'', Julia A. Miller's, ''Oracle Bones'' and Sarah J. Ritch's, ''Fish and Bird''.

Windy City Time's, Vernon Hestor says, “...amiable host, Kg Price, and the Chicago Scratch Orchestra are the key to checking out a whole new world. In short, I want to check out more of this...''

Through the philosophy of Cornelius Cardew, the works of John Cage, the influence of Pauline Oliveros and many other heads, every voice of antiquity coupled with new means of sonic expression coalesce to present the experimental music lovers of Chicago with answers that shine in the form of beautiful questions. Witness the new means of musical scoring that combines notation and design to shape the orchestra's sight and sound.

Extemporization is also to be expected, creating a whole new and never before heard outcome of the gathering of so many talented and experimental musicians.
